Wendy Lynn Stanley, 63, of Andover, MA., passed away peacefully on Monday, October 5th, 2020 after her courageous fight with leukemia. She was surrounded by family and friends at her family seaside home. Wendy was born on April 30, 1957, in Salem, MA., to Harold S. Maddix and the late Sylvia B. Maddix. Wendy graduated from Hamilton- Wenham Regional High School and then attended Plymouth State University for her Bachelors degree and Salem State College for her Masters degree. She was an elementary school teacher in Portsmouth, NH, Hampton, NH, and Haverhill, MA. She served as an elementary school principal at Bradford Elementary in Haverhill, MA and the Kane School in Marlborough MA. Wendy dedicated her life to teaching and education. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and was a mentor to many offering compassionate advice with a kind, quiet smile. Wendy was an avid reader who loved to ski, travel and walk with friends and especially with her Shih Tzu, Annabelle.
Wendy is survived by her father, Harold S. Maddix and his wife Barbara; Wendy's children; Katie M. Cleasby of Ashburn, VA and her husband, Jeff; her son, Jeffrey B. Stanley and his wife Dani of Middletown, RI; her sister Polly Hamilton of Wakefield, MA; brother Barry Maddix and his wife Ruth of Boerne, TX and brother Randy Maddix and his wife Doreen of Yorba Linda, CA.
