Wayne left a significant mark on academia and his professional sphere. He graduated from Northwood High School (Minong, WI) in 1970 and subsequently entered the Marines in 1971. After serving his country with honor and pride from 1971 to 1974, he achieved the commendable rank of Sergeant E-5. His thirst for knowledge led him back to school, and in 1984 he graduated from NCSU, Raleigh, NC.

His career path led him to Kimberly Clark in 1985, where he excelled as a mechanical engineer at both the Augusta,GA and Neenah, WI facilities. Wayne's innovative spirit was evident as he traveled the globe and designed numerous patents for products that are widely used today. His remarkable career journey concluded with retirement in 2012.
