Wayne Wilhelm Rau (Willie), beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and resident of Theodore, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2023 at the age of 74. Son of the late Idona Carey and Willie Rau, Wayne will be remembered for his incredible vocation as a marine electrician and his innate ability to always bring a smile to your face. He enjoyed fishing, working with his hands, and was an avid sports fan, predominantly Alabama football. From a child all the way into adulthood, Wayne was a jokester. He had a gift for turning anyone’s day around with a laugh. In return, he would always laugh with you - and it was contagious. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Walter and Eugene; sisters, Hazel, Cathy, and Donna. He is survived by his brother Carey Rau; sister Roseanne Sullivan (James); son, Wayne Rau III; daughter, Tonya Davis (Fred); nephew, Brandon Moore; and a host of extended family and friends. A Service of Remembrance will be held Thursday, July 6, 2:00 pm at Riverside Baptist Church on Dauphin Island Parkway.
