Wayne's obituary

Wayne Jeffrey Overbagh passed away on January 2, 2024, at his home in Larkspur, Colorado after a battle with prostate cancer. He was 80 years old.

Wayne was born in Poughkeepsie, New York, on Jan 27, 1943, the first son of Wayne B and Sally Overbagh.

At John Marshall High School in Rochester, Minnesota (class of 1961) he began participating in his favorite sport of golf which he continued into his retirement years.

Wayne had the honor of being appointed to the Air Force Academy in 1961 by Senator Eugene McCarthy of Minnesota, however his military career ended early when he met and married Virginia Anne Vail. They had two children together, Donald and Kristine.  Wayne continued his education to receive his bachelor's degree in business from the University of Minnesota and received his MBA from the University of Colorado in 1970.

Wayne spent the first 12 years of his career at IBM as a systems analyst. After several years in sales at various computer companies Wayne transitioned into commercial real estate. He spent a large period of time as a broker for Grubb and Ellis, as well as Hooker International (an Australian based company).

Wayne married his second wife, Dorothy Trees in the 70's and they were together for 7 years.

Wayne met his 3rd wife Pauli Ratts in 1986. Together they bought a house in beautiful Perry Park Country Club in Larkspur, Colorado where he had been a lifetime member since 1984. He enjoyed the beauty and nature of the area, taking long hikes through Pike National Forest around his home.

Wayne is survived by his wife Pauli Ratts, his two children Donny Overbagh and Kristine Waldemer, 4 grandsons, Alec and Cody Overbagh, Aaron and Patrick Racher, great granddaughter, Maggie Overbagh, and his brother John Overbagh.
