Wayne's obituary
Wayne R Olsen, 62, from Taylorsville, Ut. Born March 10th 1962. Wayne was a pillar to his family and community. He was the man who didn't think twice about helping, no matter how small he knew it was worthy of help. It reflected in the work he did, from being a police officer for Salt Lake County to volunteening for Sandy Animal Services after retiring (where he fostered and later adopted his best friend Ratchet. He was a cowboy at heart; able to recite any John Wayne or Clint Eastwood movie at the drop of hat. A guns-man and an avant outdoorsman; shooting and fishing were some of the activities that now his boys will charish and pass on to their children; a small way to keep him alive. Wayne felt most at home camping under the stars. Sadly on Sunday, September 8th; while camping up in mirror highway, he passed due to a heart attack. His name and memory survive on with his wife Karen Thomas, his younger sister Malinda, sons Jame (Brook) Olsen and Justin ( Brandon) Olsen, his bonus family of Ashtyn Thomas and Jordan Thomas; and his grandchild Kennedy, Lilly Olsen and Ophylia Thomas.
Wayne is predeceased by his parents Rodger and Shannon Olsen and his older brother Marcus.
His body is being donated to the U and a celebration of life will be held at the home of 3307 W Valley Heights Dr. Taylorsville, Ut
