Wayne's obituary
It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Wayne Havens on June 6, 2023. Born November 3, 1940, Wayne lived a life characterized by hard work, dedication, and passion for his family and interests.
Wayne's commitment to helping those who help themselves was a value he instilled in all who knew him. A proud and resourceful man, he approached life with a deep intelligence and unorthodox way of thinking. One of his favorite pastimes was tending to his farm, where his industrious nature shone brightly.
Wayne once held a high school track record, and played football for the United States Marine Corps, showcasing his athletic prowess and determination. His favorite local spot was ACE Hardware, where he was known for his helpful and knowledgeable advice.
He cared deeply for his family and was survived by his niece, Kathleen Southerland, her children Erica Stamper (Jamey), and Taylor Bryant (Nate), as well nephew, Michael Cischke (Melissa) and Trey Southerland. Wayne will also be missed by his great-great nieces and nephews who spent many days on his farm, listening and learning from him. Wayne was preceded in death by his sister, Darleen Butler.
As we remember Wayne, we honor his legacy of hard work and unorthodox ways of thinking. Everyone who knew Wayne became a better person for it, and his memory will continue to inspire and guide us. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to have known him.
