Wayne's obituary
Wayne took great pleasure in the outdoors. He loved to fish, camp and play harmonica, or as he called it the "harp," fireside. Wayne recently took up the guitar and loved to sing songs with family and friends, especially the country music he grew up with, like Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson. Wayne was an incredibly skilled carpenter and hard worker. Wayne could build anything with his own two hands with rapid speed and skill. Wayne was a lover of animals, including his most prized animal friend, his bird Zeke, who traveled with him everywhere, whether in a cage or on his shoulder or even on his head. Wayne most deeply loved people—his family, his friends and everyone he met along the way during his life’s journey. Wayne shared his love of life with everyone wherever he went.
Wayne is loved and will be missed by many, including his parents Dale and Debi Dougherty and Donna Kincaid, his sisters Heidi Lacava and Kim Dougherty, his Grandmother Ardell Richcreek, his nieces Morgan and Paige Lacava, his nephews Brody and Colton Forman, and countless aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Wayne was predeceased by his daughter Skylar, and leaves behind his son Cody, both of whom he loved profoundly.
People may pay their respects to Wayne’s family on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at 4pm at Chapman Funeral Homes in Mashpee, Massachusetts. A memorial service to celebrate Wayne’s life will be held in the same location directly thereafter. In lieu of sending flowers, his family asks that you send donations in Wayne’s honor to Guardians of the Streets, an organization committed to helping those suffering with addiction and to giving them a chance at a better life (https://www.guardianshelp.org…)
Wayne will be missed deeply by many and will live forever in our hearts.
