To Bunny, Sue, Niki and Ashley,
I worked with Wayne for many years and spent many an evening with him at the Photronics house in Allen, Boise or hotels in Europe. The evening always passed with us trading stories of our Moms, wifes and daughters. Oh, yeah and our cars! Although I have not met the DeCarlo ladies, I know lots about y'all! Wayne loved and was very proud of each of you and enjoyed talking about y'all. God bless you at this time.

I feel truly blessed to have known Wayno as a coworker and a friend. His passion for his work and friends was only surpassed by the love, pride and joy of his family. Wayne demonstrated every day how to attack life and fill every day with purpose and fun. My family will keep Wayne and his family and in our hearts and prayers. God Bless, Derek

We first met Wayno and Sue at a poker run on our boat. We no sooner got started that the sky opened up with the worst thunder and lightning storm ever. We took refuge under a bridge and Wayno VERY bravely placed himself between our boat and the concrete piling enduring heavy rain and high winds. Smiling all the while! We will always remember Wayno as the happiest , best natured person we've met. And the best story teller! We will miss his genuine smile, his magnetic personality and his ability to make everyone feel like they were his best friend. Rest in peace, Wayno.

Not only having the honor of being his Brother In-Law, I have enjoyed working with Wayne for many years, enjoying the banter and his guidance. His personality has always been "can do", nothing could get him down, his positive vibe wore off on everyone. It is heartfelt reading these stories, all the lives he touched, I'm sure he sees the outpouring of love. We will be talking about Wayne for many years and he won't ever be forgotten. Rest in peace Bro.

Wayno, I am heartbroken that you have left us. Through the years we have had some fun times, and you were always a trooper when it came to mine and Sue’s shenanigans 😂. You will always be remembered as an amazing man! And of course the #1 Dad cheerleader there ever was! You will always hold a special spot in my heart. Love you my friend ♥️. Rest Easy 🙏🏻

Wayne was a good friend during our high school years, he was a teenage hunk! Jump ahead 30-40 years when I would visit for reunions, we would talk about our lives as if we had always stayed in touch. He was so well loved by all and I will always remember him as one of the kindest persons of all time.

Wayno was the best person and cheer dad in the world. What I remember most is him just always being there. He was at everyone practice and every competition supporting Ashley and our teams. He was the friendliest person I probably every met and someone you always wanted to be around. It hurts my heart that his laughter will no longer be heard, but his memory lives on in the highest of regard. I have so much love for Wayne, Ashley, and the rest of the DeCarlo family. Rest In Peace, Wayno❤️

While I only had the pleasure of being in Wayne's company a handful of times I felt that I knew him well from listening to Sue. Wayne was the most thoughtful person - even upgraded my flight home once to first class and I hadn't even met him yet. Who does that? Wayne did. After reading these posts it's clear he touched a lot of lives in a very positive way. Words cannot express how sad I am he is no longer on this earth but heaven has certainly gained an angel. Prayers and hugs to Sue and the girls.

Where Ever We Needed You!
Wayne,
Where to begin? It is crazy that is has been over 10 years when we met. You have been such a huge part of life since then. I remember when Niki and I were dating and you drove me home in what seemed like a hurricane, and we got a flat tire and had to change it on the way. We all sort of decided that branch fell right in front of the car, because there was no way you would have missed it. Years later, you brought Niki to my graduation from Basic Training and I remember learning them how much you loved our military. A few months after that Niki and I were married and getting ready to move to Illinois and welcome Caleb into the world. You have been there for every step of the way. You always found a reason to come and visit, and you never let distance be a factor. We always did our best to stock the fridge with “fat cheese” and bologna, but only Boar’s Head! I would always joke with Niki that I had to practice my hand shake before you got to the house because of how long and sturdy your hand shakes were. I always felt that I had to reciprocate the intensity. Our boys are so lucky that they got to spend so much time with you, and you better believe that you will always be a part of this household and this family. I promise that I will continue to get the Subaru serviced and get my smog checks done on time! Thank you so much for the role you played in our family. I love your daughter and your grandkids so much. Please don’t worry about them, I got it from here. We love you, rest assured you will always be with us.

More than One in a Million, Wayne was One in a Billion! I worked with Wayne for a number of years during Photronics' expansion in the U.S. and Europe. And I was fortunate to have travelled with him as we planted the PLAB flag in many of these sites. The most memorable moment -- one in which my life flashed before my eyes -- was when, after dinner out in Dresden, Germany with Mark Morrow, Wayne and I, Wayne asked to drive my Mercedes Avis rental car (picture maybe a Toyota Corolla). As we approached our hotel, instead of taking a simple left turn in to the hotel driveway, Wayne speeds up and announces he's going to do a James Bond turn and this poor little rental car spins around and around and just misses the hotel driveway, instead slamming the wheel against the curb, creasing the rim. To this day I'm pretty certain I'm on Avis - Germany's blacklist. Over the years Wayne, Mark and I have reminisced about that adventure countless times, even just recently.

Wayne had the kindest heart of all. He had endless energy and was always overflowing with love for all...but especially his family, his girls and his grandkids. Seeing his Facebook posts always put a smile on my face and melted my heart. I hope to mirror Wayne's gift of adoration.

But Wayne's heart knew no bounds. When my son, Adam, graduated from NC State in 2019, and was interviewing with a technology company, Micross, in Research Triangle Park, I noticed that Wayne was LinkedIn connected with 2 of the people on Adam's in-person interview agenda; in fact, Micross was Wayne's photomask customer. I pinged Wayne, who was in Sacramento, getting ready to head to a beach vacation with Sue and the Grandkids before heading out on a global business trip for 3 weeks. Wayne didn't hesitate to send a kind, heart-felt note to his contacts. And Wayne's thoughtfulness was never-ending, reaching out even before his plane touched down from his globetrotting to see if Adam had gotten the job. He did. Wayne's counsel was priceless.

Wayno, your legacy is legendary and the memories that you've planted in the hearts of Sue, your girls, your grandkids and your friends will bring joy until eternity.

Love You, Miss You, Wayno!

Paul aka "Rozeeeee"

Wayno was a kind, fun, friendly and dedicated man. He loved his family and we always enjoyed our time with him. He will be greatly missed and we send our condolences to all who knew him. RIP Wayno!
I always knew that my boy Wayne, with his very often overpowering personality, was one in a million. And after seeing all the memories of these who were part of his life whether they were family, friends or business associates, I really can see that he was a very unique individual. My one consolation is that he died doing what he loved. He was not a guy that worked to live - he lived to work.
Believe it or not, Covid was a blessing to me. Because of the restrictions on travel it allowed him to stay here with me during the last period of his life. He was always kidded about moving back home with “His Mommy.” But, what a happy time it was for both of us. He was such a bright light in my day and I will always remember his words when he walked out the door for the last time.
Well, to you my son, “I too,” will love you forever. Till we meet again - Mommy❤️❤️

Our prayers are with the DeCarlo family and the grandkids in particular that you loved so much!
We loved listening to his stories the grandkids and he loved the "Wiener Schnitzel" we were going to order for him on any possible occasion during our business trips.
RIP Wayne!
