Wanda's obituary
Wanda Lynn Serrano, 40, passed away quietly at home in Tamarac, Florida, on October 5, 2022. Despite doctors giving her only four months to live, she fought Cancer for three years, a diabolical criminal that has plagued our society for far too long. She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Wanda's family has witnessed her kick cancer in the butt every day since she was diagnosed. She chose to approach her diagnosis with blind optimism, only speaking about her future and continuing to move forward.
Wanda met the love of her life, Rodolfo, while working at an Italian-American bakery in Sunrise, Florida. It was love at first sight for the two, and they became inchipinchi almost immediately. When two souls fall in love, there is nothing but a longing to be close to each other, as they become inseparable. Together, they had two children: Lita and Juan.
Wanda thought that life was all about exploring new pasta-bilities. Despite being kicked out of the secret cooking society for spilling the beans, Wanda enjoyed spending time in the kitchen, preparing delicious meals for her family. She was obsessed with Italian food because it was simple and filling as opposed to difficult or fancy. She was also interested in skincare, which many people consider a chore, but she saw it as beneficial to both her skin and her mental health. Her most important hobby and accomplishment in life, however, was raising her two children. Wanda knew she wasn't perfect, but she knew she got something in her life perfectly right because of her kids. Her greatest wish for her children as a mother is that they remember how much she loved them, that they have the courage to face each day, and that they can live the rest of their lives knowing she will always be with them through warm memories. And when grief tries to rob them of the beauty of their memories, they must remember that - LOVE. NEVER. DIES. Wanda’s narrative may be over, however, she leaves half of herself in each of her children, creating new versions of oneself within them.
Wanda was so well-liked that, while it may sound cheesy, her legacy is a pizza history. Her compassionate heart left a ray of light for everyone in the community. Her bravery, positive attitude, and bright smile will be greatly missed. The time has come for her to be with family on the other side and watch over the ones left behind.
There will be no viewing because Wanda believed that a funeral would be a waste of money that her family could utilize now. Wanda also felt the discomfort by the thought of people gawking at her while she lay in a casket. Instead, she will be cremated, and her ashes will be interred at the family burial site in her husband's native county of Panama. Her burial will take place at the family's convenience, and her ashes will be kept for as long as they match the décor.
Finally, in her honor, the family requests that you dine at Olive Garden because when you're there, you're family.
