Wanda's obituary
It is with deep sorrow and an immense sense of loss that we announce the passing of our beloved Wanda Mayo Walls. Wanda was born on September 3, 1949, and peacefully departed this life on February 7, 2024.
Wanda was an embodiment of the qualities of caring, giving, and passion. She touched many lives with her kindness and treated everyone as equals. Her legacy of compassion will continue to inspire anyone who had the privilege of crossing paths with her. Wanda, in her unique way, made the world a better place.
Wanda is survived by her loving husband, James Walls, three children Tonia Chadwell, Lisa Hawthorne, and Chris Mayo, and Marydith Mayo. Her memory will also live on in the hearts of her grandchildren; Ashley Chadwell, Julia Mayo, Brenton Mayo, Mathew Hawthorne, Brandon Hawthorne, Jarred Hawthorne, and Shelby Chadwell, as wells as her great children Cale,Ruby,Daniel, and Evelyn.
When not spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren, Wanda found joy in appreciating the simple pleasures of life. She loved Mexican food, lemon bars, root beer floats, and making homemade ice cream. She enjoyed a refreshing Pepsi and occasionally indulged in a margarita. Wanda was an avid reader, with favorite books including works by V.C. Andrews.
Music was a huge part of Wanda's life. Her favorite artists included Alabama, Lenard Skinnard, Garth Brooks, Jody Messina, Little Texas, Toby Keith, and Charle Daniels. She also enjoyed watching TV Shows such as Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, The Ranch, and live concerts. Her favorite movies were Jesus Christ Superstar and Almost Famous.
Wanda had a unique flair for art, she loved roses and pigs, and cherished pictures of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed playing Aggravation and Zilch, watching country concerts and plays at the local theater. Some of her favorite local spots were La Nina's, local thrift stores, and attending the local farmers market. She loved going to the ocean with her grandchildren, and visiting the casino with her husband.
The world was a better place with Wanda in it. Some of her greatest accomplishments included raising 3 successful children and nurturing a family full of grand and great-grandchildren. Her spirit of kindness and compassion will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
A Celebration of Life for Wanda will be held on March 2, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Edward Ray Park on 15th street in Chowchilla CA. All are welcome to attend and celebrate the beautiful life of Wanda Mayo Walls.
