Wanda's obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Wanda Fairbanks, who left us peacefully on March 5, 2022. Born on November 6, 1946, Wanda led a life centered around family, kindness, and dedication to helping others. Her loss has created a void in our lives that cannot be filled.
Wanda is survived by her loving daughter, Samantha Walsh. She found immense happiness in their bond and it was a relationship she cherished deeply. Tragically, Wanda was predeceased by her dear husband, Gerald Fairbanks Sr., and their son, Gerald Fairbanks Jr. Their memories were always close to her heart and she found solace in remembering the love and joy they shared.
Prior to her retirement in 2012, Wanda served with great dedication at the Prince William County Schools. In her role as a Teacher's assistant for the Mentally Handicapped, she exhibited unfaltering patience and understanding. It was one of her greatest achievements and she often expressed how rewarding the experience had been for her.
Wanda was a woman of simple pleasures. She indulged in the joys of country food and was a lifelong fan of The Beatles. Green was a color she was particularly fond of. However, it was her family-oriented nature that truly defined her. Wanda believed in the power of kindness and her best advice was teaching others how to be good people. It was a lesson she imparted not just through her words, but more importantly, through her actions.
Wanda will forever be remembered for her selfless devotion to her family. Her legacy will live on through the values she instilled in her loved ones. As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate her life and the indelible impact she has left behind.
