My recollections;
Walt was always the one who was taking care of us three, much younger, 'rug rats'. I can't recall him ever shying away from that responsibility, and I always enjoyed being involved in his many adventures. He was just plain fun to be with.
Beginning in his teens he was ever willing to take the chance, venture out and thrust himself into any unusual life-experience. In the early 1960’s he even took time to inject himself into the beatnik art community in Venice, California.
Though he had a Christ-like compassion for the downtrodden and underprivileged, he also expanded his own knowledge and understanding of the many major religions of the world professing those qualities.
He possessed the innate Willette trait of relishing a discussion about any controversial subject especially where he could utilize his very solid, self-taught understanding of world history. Oh, what a memory he had!
One of his vises, though, was his reluctance to part with anything, which might have even the slightest bit of an intellectual aspect to it. His other indomitable fetish was concern for God’s cats!

He had an old soul. Loving person. Stood by his beliefs and never gave in
