Walter's obituary

Stearns, Walter, 66, of Norwalk, and formerly New Canaan, Connecticut, passed away on January 21st after a brief illness.

Walter grew up in Medford, Massachusetts and graduated from Medford High School. He attended Seton Hall University where he graduated with a degree in Psychology and Nova Southeastern University where he earned an MBA. Walter was a communications technology professional, achieving many certifications and milestones during his remarkable career. Walter led the production of internal broadcasts for the General Electric Corporation for the past 23 years.

Walter was an avid sports fan and grew up loving the Boston teams, particularly the Celtics. His greatest source of pride and joy were his two children and he devoted much of his time supporting their endeavors.

Walter was predeceased by his parents, George A. and Catherine T. (Byrnes) and his sister Margaret Stearns. He is survived by his son Austin and daughter Grace, brothers William (Sandi) and Michael (Linda).

A Memorial Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, February 4 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Medford. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The American Diabetes Association.
