Walt's obituary

Walt Reynolds, 89, passed away on April 25, 2021 in Sarasota, Florida at the Tidewell Hospice House. He was with his wife and daughters.

He is survived by his wife, Joan Reynolds, after 68 years of marriage; his daughter Anne Westman and husband Jim; his daughter Sue Robison and husband Jerry ; and 4 grandchildren Sydney Westman, Jake Westman, Kyle Robison and Josh Robison.

Walt was born in Spencerville, OH and grew up in Waynesfield, Westminter and Harrod, Ohio. He was the son of Gladys (Post) Reynolds and Charles Reynolds. His older siblings were Clara Omlar, David Reynolds and Earl Reynolds.

Walt served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. He was stationed in England during the Korean War.

He later relocated with his family to Sarasota, Florida. There he owned his own aluminum and concrete construction company, Reynolds Aluminum & Masonry Contractors. He and Joan raised their family in Sarasota until he retired to Sky Valley, Georgia. While being a resident of Sky Valley, he served his community as a City Councilman. He spent the remainder of his years living in Lawrenceville, Georgia with his wife Joan.

Walt was a very caring and giving individual and always put his family first. He taught his daughters many life skills and loved a good project. He valued his time spent with his girls and grandchildren. He was always working to make things better for others in his community. He was the heart of our family and will be greatly missed and always remembered.

He will be buried at the Sarasota National Cemetery.
