Walter's obituary

Walter “Wally” Redkoles, of 34th Street North in St. Petersburg, Florida, passed away peacefully.

Walter was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, serving aboard the aircraft carrier USS Franklin D. Roosevelt (CVA-42). He spent nearly his entire enlistment at sea aboard the Roosevelt, an experience that left a profound and lasting mark on his life and character. His service and dedication to his country remained a source of quiet pride throughout his years.

Known to friends as Wally, he was a musician, singer, and songwriter, carrying a deep love for music that stayed with him all his life. In the 1980s, Walter moved to St. Petersburg, Florida, where he made his home and worked primarily in the service and hospitality industry, forming friendships wherever he went.

Walter was preceded in death by his father, Nicholas Redkoles, and his mother, Ruth Harbeson.

He is survived by his beloved sister, Joan Hyatt, and his nieces and nephew, Luann White, Susan Magouirk, and Mike Magouirk.

Walter was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
