Mr. Walter H. "Sonny" Scott, age 75, of Vidalia, died Saturday, December 4, 2021, at Memorial Health Meadows Hospital in Vidalia after a sudden illness. He was a native of Toombs County, living in Miami, Florida for several years, and in Vidalia most of his life. He worked at Federal Pacific, Somers Concrete & Pipe Plant, and with the Georgia Department of Transportation and the City of Vidalia as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of Smith Street Baptist Church and the Alby Gay Sunday School Class. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, old westerns, tinkering on automobiles, and Sunday drives. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ruby Dell Maddox Mosley and Cuyler Pierce Mosley.

His family includes his wife of forty-five years, Barbara Mixon Scott of Vidalia; two children, Greg Burns and wife Theresa of Vidalia, and Tren Burns and wife Jennifer of the New Branch Community; two granddaughters, Alli Burns and Abbi Burns; one sister, Martha Page and husband Jerry of Vidalia; one brother, Clarey P. Scott, Sr. of Warner Robins; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be Tuesday, December 7th, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend David Barrett and Pastor Chester Proctor officiating. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday afternoon from 1:30 until prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Smith Street Baptist Church, 503 Smith St., Vidalia, GA 30474.
