Walter was such a remarkable man - fascinating, kind, generous, loving, humble. If saints exist, he is first among them. I am so very grateful for having enjoyed his friendship for forty-three years. So blessed to have known this wonderful person. Sara, thank you so much for sharing your photographs. And, please know, that not only did he tell you he was proud of you, he told us as well.

My grandpa Walter was not only one of the smartest and most interesting people I've ever known, but also the kindest. I don't have a single memory of him in which he doesn't have a huge smile on his face! Whether he was helping to teach me to read as a child, taking me to the movies, listening to me play my flute, or just chatting about life, he was never anything but 100% positive and supportive in every way. He always made me feel very special and very loved, and every time we talked he told me that he was proud of me. I'm so incredibly grateful to have had almost 37 years with him, and so many wonderful memories. I will never forget him and his beautiful smile, and how much he meant to all of us! Rest in peace, Grandpa.
