When I came to Grants Pass High I was sort of a troubled youth and because of Wally’s dedication and Persistence I straightened myself out. He followed me to every class and checked in on me to make sure I stayed. My whole sophomore year I was chaperoned by this giant teddy bear. He was the best guy ever! You really made a difference Mr. Wally and I will never forget you. 

Wally was amazing. He didn't just have a job at the high school, he had a role in many of our lives. He was the smiling face and bear hug when I needed it most. He was the voice of reason, compassion, understanding, and hope when chaos was all I had. Stories of him have been told in my house over the years, always with laughs or loving memory. He had a way of knowing exactly what was needed in any situation. I hope he truly felt my gratitude when I saw him last. We were all blessed to have known him.  My deepest condolences to his family. 

Wally will always be remembered.   He was a light in this world.  Love to you all.
