Wally's obituary
Wallace Johnston Cringle May 1930 - December 2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Wallace "Wally" Cringle, who departed this life on December 14, 2025. Wally, known for his quiet presence, warmth, and humour, was born in May, 1930. His legacy of kindness and generosity will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
Wally was a dedicated provider, patrolling the north shore of Superior as an O.P.P. officer from 1955 to 1988, a devoted family man, and a steadfast friend. Even as he transitions to his eternal rest, he remains an irreplaceable presence in our lives.
Wally is survived by his loving wife Eileen Cringle, with whom he spent the last 25 years. He is also survived by a son, Robert Cringle, and two daughters, Debbie Bunch (Martin) and Tricia Cringle. Wally was predeceased by his brother, John Cringle (Marlene), his first wife, Rose Cringle (neé Oppel), and a son, David Cringle (Carrol), whom he also loved and cherished. Wally is survived by five grandchildren: Zak Bowler, Jeff Bunch, Jon Cringle, Josh Nelson, and Hunter Charles, as well as several great-grandchildren.
In his retirement, Wally loved traveling with his wife Eileen, and he held a special place in his heart for Portugal and Estero, Florida. The two returned to these vacation spots again and again, gaining new friends and bringing home with them many happy memories.
We mourn the loss of a kindhearted man but celebrate a life well-lived. Wally's legacy of kindness, generosity, and devotion to family will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, if you wish, a donation to the Red Cross Health Equipment Loan Program in Wally’s memory would be deeply appreciated.
