Vontay… I will never forget her coming with me to Tejon outlets to help me pick a bag out for my mom for Mother’s Day. She had great taste and truly was such a kind nurturing soul. She was like my work mom and I wouldn’t be in the position I am in today without her help. May God rest her soul and comfort her loved ones during this time.
Vontay Moya was a sweet soul with a warm smile. She always listened and cared as a friend. She was a good friend that mentored me in my personal life and also as a nurse. I will never forgot when I was a new LVN and we worked together. My first night on my own on the floor in Skilled nursing, I was passing medications still when it was time to give report. When she noticed, she stopped and came and helped me finish that med pass from then on, I admired her and had so much respect for her. In personal life, she opened her family home to my kids and I when it was needed and she was always there to listen and guide. Her and my daughter share a birthday and they always wish each other happy birthdays every year. What I admired the most from her was the deep love and devotion for her husband, kids, and grandkids. Friend the world is dimmer without you, but we will see you again. We have now gained an angel. You will be missed greatly. 🙏🏾❤️

When I first met Vontay at Kindred Health Care, as a beautiful caring nurse.  I spoke with her about 2 to 3 years ago while in Texas  working with children . She was excited and said she enjoyed her work. She was a caring wife ,mother, grandmothers, and friend.
I met you 30 years ago and our families intertwined as one and it has been like that even with me being in a whole Nother state I love you and again and blessed with lots and lots of memories. I love you, Shawn.
She was my beautiful friend I met through Nursing years ago, and Mr. Moya was my son's coach at RVHS. She was a beautiful soul and a great person! Always smiling. She will be greatly missed! May she Rest In Heaven! My deepest condolences to her family!

Vontay was "Mom" to a lot of us at PCC. The hugs, the love and laughs, the encouragement, and the blunt advice.

She always made a big deal about your birthday, was ready to pick you up form the airport, have a drink and hang out, or watch you do something stupid so she could help you up.

She was beauty, light, and song, with a quick mouth and a generous heavy.

Vontay I love you and miss you!

One of the most memorable thing I remember about Vontay was when I told her I was stuck between naming my first son (currently pregnant) Amado or Adrian. Her reaction was so full of love 💙 she said, “I love Amado. It’s different.”

Just the other day, I went to see her Facebook and her relationship status said “Married to Ahmad Moya”. Ahmad. I see now why she did. And it makes me love the name even more so that she loved it. Out of everyone who heard the name, she had the most memorable reaction I will never forget.

Cousin,  you took us by a loop. We love you, here is Mississippi.  Our prayers and condolences goes out to the entire family.

I’ve had the privilege of knowing Shawn-Shawn since I was a little girl and she’s always been the same and was all about her family making sure everyone was okay. This was hard hearing she’s no longer here but I know her husband, children, grandchildren and the rest of the family will continue to do the work that she did. Shawn-Shawn will be missed and my family will keep you all in our prayers during your time of bereavement. We love you all!!
