Dear Aleks and Milos,
I don't know if you will remember me, but I used to work for your parents at your house near the Summerhill subway station, Toronto. I was there every Friday from September 1984 until I 'retired' in 1996 after which I relocated to Islamabad, Pakistan to pursue humanitarian work, primarily regarding orphan children. I returned here to Canada for good in July 2024 and now live in Mississauga.....
Every February 10th, I would especially remember your Mother Marijana (as it is her birthday) and wonder how she was and where she is. Then, this evening I thought I should search your Mum's name on the internet and, to my great shock and sadness, I learned of your parents' joint passing. I can't tell you how I feel--mere words cannot express my feelings. 😢😢😢
Then, when I think of you two lovely kids, my heart breaks as I realize how wrenching it is to lose both Mother and Father almost at once. May God give you the strength to carry on in this life without them.
With heartfelt condolences and fond memories of you both and your wonderful parents,
Doreen Golinowsky

Dear Aleksandra, this is Tanja from Belgrade.
I attended your wedding and spent some time with your aunt Rada and Jela while I was in Toronto. I recently learned about the loss of your parents and wanted to express my deepest condolences. My thoughts are with you and Miloš during this difficult time.
The dinners at Vojin and Marijana’s were truly magical, and I will always remember them. It deeply touched me, as they were a couple who simply couldn’t pass away. I also feel deeply for the loss of both Rada and Jela.
I myself had a loss in my family when Rada passed, and I understand how difficult this time must be. I truly believe that they will never be forgotten.

Dear Sandra and Milos,
My name is Buba. My parents and I shared the same house where your grandmothers Jela and Bajka lived. Vojin and Rada also lived there before they moved to Split and Canada.
I found on internet MEMORIAL page that you have organised for your parents. I feel very sorry to learn that they passed away within 2 weeks. I know that it is very hard for you.
I moved with my family to New Zealand in 1995. My English is not so good to express my feelings about your family and your parents in particular. I would like to find out more about the life of your parents. If you want to get in touch with me please contact me:

Dear Aleksandra and Milos,
Please accept my sincere condolences to you and your family for the passing of your parents. I was very saddened to learn of your loss.
My mom and dad (Spomenka and Dusan) attended the memorial and i was sorry that i couldn’t come. I wanted you to know that i had the greatest respect and admiration for both your parents. I knew them for over 30 years and they were present at some of the biggest milestones in my life. Your mom was one of the most beautiful, kind and gentle ladies that I knew. Your father was a generous man whom i had the pleasure of working with for his business and personal travel for so many years. I spoke with him often and I truly admired him.
They both touched many people’s lives, including mine, and they will always have a special place in my heart ❤️❤️
Sandra

In Loving Memory of Vojin and Marijana
Dear Aleks and Milos,
I am deeply saddened that I cannot be there in person to celebrate the lives of your beloved parents, Vojin and Marijana. They were remarkable individuals who left an indelible mark on my heart and life.
When I first arrived in Canada, feeling lost and uncertain, Vojin and Marijana welcomed me with open arms. They offered me a place to stay and provided the emotional and financial support I needed to start anew. Their generosity and kindness gave me a sense of belonging, hope, and security during a challenging time.
Every Saturday, they hosted family dinners, creating a warm and loving environment that made me feel like a cherished member of the family. These gatherings were a source of comfort and joy, and I will always treasure those moments.
Vojin was a hardworking man and a great listener. He always had time to offer practical advice and celebrated every success I achieved in school and my personal life. His encouragement and wisdom were invaluable to me.
Marijana, with her quiet strength and calm love, understood how overwhelmed I was after a broken relationship. Her support and understanding made my life easier and helped me heal.
I love them both dearly and will always cherish their memory. Though I am heartbroken that I cannot be there to honor them in person, I hope you can read this message during the memorial.
Vojin and Marijana, I love you and will always cherish the memories of you. You will live in my heart forever.
Much love, Sanja

I am deeply grateful to Marijana and Voja for their generosity in hosting a memorable celebration for my mother, who had been Dada (Voja’s sister) and Voja’s high school Latin teacher in Belgrade. Their spectacular party for her visit to Toronto is a memory I will always cherish.
