Sally Janover Ginny and I were pretty close. We shared friends at the studio where we both worked, talked about our philosophies of life, about art, and everything else. Ginny's work was in every part of the studio from her early horse drawings to her rich pastel abstracts. There was so much to learn from her. After I left Colorado many years ago, and would come back to visit, I'd stay at her apartment in Boulder and sleep on her couch with her cats. After I ended up in North West Montana I couldn't get down to Boulder any more. We stayed in touch over the years through occasional long emails about what we thought was important in life. I've saved her emails because they were always worth saving. Then, I stopped getting emails from her. I didn't get replies, not even on Facebook. It concerned me. I was shocked when I saw this Facebook message. If I'd known she was ill, I would have gone down to be with her. I have lost one of my best and most unique friends of my life. My heart goes out to her son and all the others who have loved her.

I was really sad to hear about my Aunt Ginny's passing. When I was in Boulder this past summer, she invited me to dinner at her favorite restaurant--a really good Thai joint. (It was the same place that we went to eat... when I was in Colorado about ten years ago for work.)

She invited me over to her apartment afterwards, and told me a bit about her life’s path, and showed me some of her art... which she was really proud of. She felt that this was her life’s work and purpose.

I was very pleased to have had the opportunity to meet my aunt one last time before her passing. She was a lovely person with a distinctive personality... that I liked.

Ginny was one of those people who became an instant friend. She was happy to share her vast knowledge of art and wisdom. I will miss her greatly. I think about her a lot.
