VIRGINIA M. THOMAS SAN JUAN - Virginia M. Thomas, 66, went to be with our Lord, Sunday, February 12, 2023, in Edinburg surrounded by her family. Born in Littlefield, Texas she had lived in San Juan most of her life. Ms. Thomas was preceded in death by her parents, Alfredo and Anita G. Martinez; four brothers, Juan, Alfredo, Alfonso and Pablo Martinez; two sisters, Carmen and Alicia Martinez. Ms. Thomas was a 4th grade teacher at Santos Livas Elementary School in Alamo. She was loved by her peers and students, Virginia felt their genuine love and friendship throughout her illness. Ms. Thomas is survived by her four children, Honey (Francisco) Smalls, Honesty (Javier Ybarra) Martinez, Harmony (Malcom Jones) Thomas and Richard (Shantay) Thomas; 13 grandchildren; two brothers, Jesse and Lupe Martinez; three sisters, Mary Martinez, Diana (Darryl) Summers and Rachel Lopez; numerous nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends at 5 p.m. with a 6 p.m. Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at Legacy Chapels 4610 S. Jackson Rd in Edinburg.
