Violet Loreane (Loudenslager) Mutz, age 87, of Lansing, MI, passed away from natural causes on Friday, November 4, 2022, at 12:35am, at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, MI.

Violet’s faith in Jesus was something that she carried near and dear to her heart. Regardless of her many hardships and difficult paths, she always found her way back with the help of the Lord. Violet loved to write poetry about her faith, her family, and important life events which she endured.

In late adulthood, Violet cared for the elderly; a job she loved dearly. Although, her first love was being a mother and grandmother. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her so much joy. She loved all her family and friends deeply and welcomed people from all walks of life into her heart with open arms. She gave shelter to family friends that had no where else to go. Violet spent her last days surrounded by her loved ones, showering her in love, prayers, and goodbyes. She leaves a beautiful legacy of her poems, stories, and memories with her family, friends, and others that she has touched in her lifetime.

Violet was born and raised in Mason, MI to her parents, Jesse and Dorothy Loudenslager. Violet is one of five children, Martin (Eva) Loudenslager, Carol Matteson, Nancy Burkett, and Kay (Donald) Kuipers.

Violet was preceded in death by her former husband of 19 years, Maynard Mutz. Violet is survived by all five of her children and their spouses; Dennis (Judith) Mutz, Gayle Mutz, Debra Robinson, Susan Mutz, and Lisa Underhill. Alongside her children. came her devoted admiration for her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and their spouses. Shaun (Rita) Johnson, Shaina Johnson, Faith Johnson, Adam (Callie) Baser, Brianna (Brandon) Sutton, Bobby (Stephanie) Mutz, Violet (John) Akers, Martin Mutz, Rebecca (Danny) Bolden, Crystal (Michael) Smith, Erin (Joseph) Cooper, Jacob Dietz, and Kellin Gillentine. Shaun Johnson Jr., Sierra Johnson, Trinity Johnson, Haley Baser, Olivia Baser, Paije Sutton, Kaiya Sutton, Lyli Sutton, Robert Migneron, Joseph Migneron, Danielle Belvins Allen, James Mutz, Cameron Mutz, Hope Mutz, Summer Beauchamp, Allisa Tackett, Dylan Tackett, Jonathan Wooten, Jessie Bolden, Mikey Smith, Eva Rose Smith, and Brynn Cooper. Nathaniel (Eli) Migneron, Jorden Migneron, Hudson Migneron, and Lochlynn Jangmi.

As we grieve the loss of Violet’s beautiful soul, we welcome you to join our family for the visitation and religious service to honor her. The visitation will be on Saturday, November 19, 2022 @ 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM, followed by the funeral service @ 2:00 PM. The event will take place at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Avenue, Lansing, MI 48912.
