Vincent, you were a great guy, great musician, quick witted and funny as hell. You are so very missed and I think of you often.

Son, another year has passed and my heart still breaks everyday at the thought of you.  Love you.
My son, you would have been 54 today.  Not a day goes by that I do not think of you.  I miss speaking with you on the phone.  You had a great sense of humor.  You were so intelligent and many times we would talk for a hour.  I so appreciate your valuing my opinion many times.  I miss watching you perform, your talent made performing look so simple, and I know it was anything but simple.  Your brother so looked up to you and he was unable to face another day.  I will miss you everyday for as long as I live.  I love you.  Mom

Vincent, my Godson. You were wonderful, kind, brilliant, talented, accomplished, inquisitive and the gentlest of human beings. I wear your fingerprint on my pendant. I keep you close now and forever.

Love, Aunt Anna

This is heartbreaking. I was friends with Vinnie in High School and after, and played guitar with him a few times. Curious as to where he'd gone with his guitar journey, I searched and found this. I'm happy to see his journey continued and went so far, but I'm so sad to hear it ended too early. Rest in light and music, my friend.

To Marie and Joe - My loving thoughts I send to you, with condolences for the loss of Vincent...

I miss you Vincent. You were my special, smart, sharp and funny friend, and life will not be the same without you. You are in my heart and I love you.

Vincent was "one of a kind" from perfecting his musical talent, creating a video with so many humanitarian messages, his ability to question everything, and getting his point across. His music was such a part of his life and having many opportunities to be in the audience when he is performing made me so proud. A true talent is a musician who will give you the impression that it is easy. It definitely is not easy. He has always been curious; if something peaks his interest, he will jump right in. I will miss our phone conversations, which were always entertaining, insightful, challenging and many times warranted a good laugh. He was special, and he was loved.

Vinny was my first love. He choose guitar (and other women!) over me, but man, I remember endless nights in the basement of his mom’s Bethel home, him jamming out to music and the boys sneaking over to play, and all of us just in awe of his talent. He always had the converse sneakers, a hat and the trench coat on. And Drakker Noir. And that blue car that we all drew on at one point or another.

My first (and only) fight with a girl was over Vinny. He was a catch and we all were after him. But more than anything, Vinny knew how to catch a soul in the chords of his guitar and make it whole.

He will be missed.

                                                                                     Vincent A. Marini

Passed away on February 23, 2023, at the age of 52 in New Orleans, LA. Vincent was born on December 11th in Germany. He settled in New Orleans as an adult, living there for over 23 years.

Vincent was an accomplished musician, vocalist, songwriter, animator, playwright, and educator. His private students adored spending hours with him at weekly music lessons and his fellow musicians were in awe of his talent, creativity, and insatiable interest in all aspects of music performance. Vincent’s talent was rare. He was as comfortable performing the music of Bach as well as American Blues and Jazz. Vincent was curious about the world; he knew what was right with the world as well as what needed to change for the better. Cooking and baking was one of his many interests along with house construction, renovation and design.

Vincent was a gifted music composer, performer, pilot and teacher. He enjoyed sharing his talents with the people of New Orleans where his performances always brought smiles to his audiences. He was an aircraft pilot, woodworking craftsman, videographer, and playwright. His thirst for learning was without limits; Vincent was a renaissance man.

Vincent was a friend to countless people in his adopted city of New Orleans where he will surely be missed. We will miss seeing his smile, hearing him sing and perform, but mostly we will miss him. Vincent was a treasured member of our family.  He was a wonderful Son, Brother, and Nephew, who is forever loved, forever missed.
