Vince's obituary
Vincent "Vince" Hammer went home to Jesus on December 13, 2022 at age 55 after a brief battle with cancer.
Vince was born to Howard and Dianne Hammer on May 05, 1967 in Bellingham, WA. As a child Vince was always the adventurer and forever a dare-devil. As a youngster he even made his own Evel Knievel bike ramp which immediately lead to an emergency room visit and broken arm. Vince was always active and truly enjoyed the outdoors. Through his life he worked many jobs including logging, commercial fishing, and finally as a CNC Machinist.
Vince met his wife Chris , the love of his life, after relocating to Arkansas. They married November 2, 2013. Although they had only 5 years together before her passing in 2017, he recounted this as some of the best time of his life. They were able to travel to his home state of Washington for the Hammer Family Reunion so she could meet his extended family. Vince also spent a lot of his time with his brother and best friend, Darryl and had intended on teaching him to ride a motorcycle before he fell ill. Vince loved the solace of riding his motorcycle on those winding Arkansas roads despite the objection of his sister, Gayle. He also loved listening to and sharing music and spending time with his beloved dog Sugar Bear. Many evenings you could find him sitting by the campfire just listening to the quiet.
Vince was extremely generous, fiercely loyal and a beautiful human being. We are so grateful for the time we had with him even if it was too short. We know our separation is only temporary and can't wait to meet him at the feet of Jesus.
Vince was preceded in death by his wife Christina Hammer. He leaves behind Grandfather Howard (Dee) Hammer, parents Howard and Dianne Hammer, brother Darryl Hammer, Sister Gayle (Paul) Benson, nieces Madeline (Kylor), Peyton (Nick) and Isabelle Benson as well as 2 great nephews, Asa and Nugget.
A Memorial service will be held on January 14, 2022 at 10:00 Union Baptist Church in Harrison, AR. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Vince's name to the Van Fund at Union Baptist Church, 3021 HWY 206; Harrison, AR 72601 or to the Gideons. Vince's wish was for all, especially those he loved, to know his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
