Vinny's obituary
Vincent Joseph Gardon, 47, entered eternal peace on Thursday, June 12, 2025.
Born on February 3, 1978, in Meriden, CT, Vinny was the son of the late Charles and Roseann Gardon. He later made his home in Cornwall, VT.
Vinny's life was a testament to resilience. From the age of 19, he lived with chronic pancreatitis, enduring intense physical pain throughout his life. Through it all, Vinny remained rooted in his faith and deeply committed to lifting others up in their own struggles. His unwavering belief in God gave him strength, comfort, and purpose during even the most challenging times.
Vinny attended SUNY Cobleskill College in New York, where he majored in Diesel Power Technology. During his freshman and sophomore years, he competed in a national agricultural competition and earned first place in the country two years in a row. Unfortunately, his promising future was interrupted by medical issues, and he was unable to continue his formal education.
Mechanically gifted, Vinny worked as a diesel mechanic and in 2006, he founded a Christian nonprofit, the Americans with Pancreatitis Foundation, Inc., to support others battling pancreatic disease and cancer. Even in the midst of deep physical and emotional suffering, Vinny’s vibrant sense of humor shone brightly. Gifted with a sharp and creative mind, he brought joy and laughter to others, a light in the lives of those around him. He also found solace in the great outdoors, especially while fishing and hunting—places where he felt most at peace.
Vinny deeply loved our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and lived his life as a devoted witness to the Gospel. With a heart on fire for the Lord, he served as an evangelist through Amazing Grace Mission, boldly sharing the message of salvation with all who would listen. Through his testimony and unwavering faith, he touched countless lives, pointing many toward the hope and grace found in Christ alone.
Vinny is survived by his siblings: Mary (Michael) Kordys of Orlando, FL; Chuck Gardon of Wethersfield; Paul Gardon of Meriden; and Anne Gardon and Johan Greyvensteyn of Hong Kong as well as his nieces and nephews: Anthony Kordys, Monique and Andrew Gardon, and Zander and Klara Greyvensteyn. He is also survived by his girlfriend, Chyna Mutter, and his aunties and many cousins.

Prior to the service, friends and loved ones may gather at the church between 10:00 and 11:00 a.m. to offer their condolences. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
