Victoria Elaine Casana (76) passed away November 24, 2023 in Berkeley, CA. Vici was born in Nashua, NH to parents George and Rhea. She led a life filled with beauty, adventure and friends. Vici graduated from Laconia High School Laconia, NH where she was on the debate team. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Missouri, Columbia, MO and Master of Arts in English from Northeastern University, Boston, MA, where her academic specialty was 19th century English authors.

After college, Vici opened a vintage clothing store in Berkeley, CA. Returning to Boston, she worked as a book editor for Houghton-Mifflin, taught English at Northeastern and helped establish and implement a recycling program for the city of Cambridge, MA. In the 2000’s Vici returned to the Bay area, moving to Santa Cruz and then to Berkeley where she continued her work as a book editor while teaching classes at UC Berkeley.

Vici continued to pursue her passions of literature, music and vintage clothing and she always developed close friendships. Vici is survived by her partner, John McCord, her brother John (Suzanne), her sister Joy Jessum, her niece and nephews Charity Malin (Ross), Jesse (Sabrina), Seth (Anna), Johnny; and, six grandnephews and grandnieces.
