I just found out about this website. In belated sympathy to any of Vici's friends and family whom I haven't already been in touch with.

I just heard from this site Vici died. I met her when I was teaching at MIT and we became good friends. We stayed in touch since then after she moved to Berkeley. She came to LA occasionally and we got together. We constantly emailed each other. The responses stopped a few months ago and now I know why. She mentioned she had cancer but that she thought they had gotten it. I told her she deserved to live a long time since she was a beautiful person. She will be missed.

Because I have reached a certain age, I have been looking folks up on the internet before I send a printed card. My address book has too many names crossed out. That’s how I found this site.
Vici and I became friends while she lived in Columbia, Missouri. We had good times visiting resale shops, finding vintage clothing, and enjoying good food and music. I visited her twice in Boston and once traveled up to Weirs Beach where we had a fantastic meal prepared by her mother.
We traded letters once a year usually after the holidays when there was more time to reflect and converse. In our last letters we shared cancer stories and she said, " Still, we're here and can only hope for the best."
I still hope for the best for Vici and her family and friends.

Our fathers were first cousins, and I had never met Vici....a little more than 20 years ago I received my first Christmas card, and a long note, from Vici. We became friends through 20 years of cards and notes...I will miss that connection very much. To Joy and John and all the family....I am so very sorry.
May her memory be eternal.

Vici was my oldest cousin and my memories recall her intellect, warmth, and humor. And those crazy clothes. On her last visit to Arizona we drove to Sedona where she was captivated by both the natural beauty and the works of art. Vici was always nice to me and I am grateful that we spent some time together. My condolences to cousins John and Joy.
