Victor's obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Victor Kirk Vidal. Father, husband, son, brother, uncle and friend. Victor left us too soon on July 24, 2023.

Born on November 9, 1958 in Carmel, California to Arthur and Merrellyn Vidal. He and his family moved to the McKenzie River in the early 70s. Victor attended McKenzie High School in Finn Rock, Oregon. After high school he worked for the Forest Service and had a debilitating accident which caused a lot of pain and limitations throughout his life. Victor later became a Groundsman traveling throughout the PNW in the 90s/early 00s. As he got older, he and his wife Colleen, settled in Christmas Valley, Oregon.

Victor and his wife Colleen met later in life, in 2010, and were married on August 30, 2013. They spent their time tending to their garden and animals, and lived in various places including Klamath Falls, Redmond, and Christmas Valley. They spent every day together and loved each other dearly.

Victor’s greatest loves were his children. Nothing made him prouder than his kids. James, Matthew, Stephanie, and Victor, and step kids from a previous marriage, Russ, Joe and Steven. Victor loved everything about being a father and was always there to cheer his children on in whatever sport or endeavor they pursued. His loss is greatly felt by his kids, but they go on knowing that he will always be with them in spirit.

Victor was known for his dedication as a coach to many always pushing others to achieve great things. His relentless pursuit of excellence, combined with his warm and supportive nature, made him a positive influence for many.  All of the kids he coached, became his "kids."  His constant efforts and talent for pushing others to achieve their best will not be forgotten. His coaching was a reflection of his love for all and his favorite lessons to share were always about the power of self-belief and never giving up, even in the face of adversity. Some of his favorite messages were: “Respect everyone; Fear None.” “Do what you love.” And “BELIEVE.”

Victor is loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure. Though his presence is no longer physical, his influence will continue to be felt, and his spirit will live on in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him. He will be missed, but his teachings and influence will remain, fostering perseverance and courage within us, prompting us to keep striving, to keep believing, and above all, to never give up.

His loss is deeply felt, and he shall be terribly missed by all of his loved ones. Victor leaves behind his wife, Colleen, his children, James, Matthew, Stephanie, Victor Jr., stepsons Russ, Joe and Steven, his grandchildren Isabella and Hunter, his mother Ellie, his brother Ted and sister Jenni (Mark, Stormy, Molly)…many other relatives and friends and all the kids he coached over the years. He is now with his father, Arthur, in Heaven.

The family sincerely appreciate the condolences and support that has reached them during this difficult time. Donations, instead of flowers, would be greatly appreciated to help his family get through this difficult time and to help pay for a celebration of life and arrangements. Any leftover money will go toward the family to help them navigate life without their dad.  You can donate here. Victor’s family will arrange a celebration in the near future. You can subscribe on Victor’s website for details when that is announced.  https://everloved.com/life-of…
