Vicki's obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Vicki Loretta Wendler, a beloved sister, daughter, mother, aunt, and friend. Born in 1966, Vicki welcomed her final sunrise on May 5, 2025. Vicki was a testament of sweetness, compassion, and care, touching the lives of everyone who was fortunate to know her.
Vicki leaves behind her dear mother, Loretta Carol Wendler. She shared an indescribable bond with her siblings, Anastasia Wendlinder, Dixie Bliley, and Scott Wendler, and was beloved by her niece, Stella Bliley, and nephew, Dawson Bliley, who will keep her spirit alive with every memory of her. Vicki was predeceased by her father, Ronald Wendler in 2003, and her beloved daughter, Shaylea Dawn Schaal, who left this earth only a few short weeks after she was born in 1989. Vicki loved and was loved immensely, and she will continue to reside in the hearts of the many lives she touched.
Vicki graduated from Burlington High School in 1985. But her wisdom went beyond her years and taught us all invaluable lessons that we continue to hold dear. Her sincere belief was to love others with your whole heart and to treat the vulnerable with dignity, which she exemplified in her work at the Burlington Care Center, and as a private home health assistant. She was especially gifted with looking after the elderly, who found in her a trusted caregiver. She loved nature and all its creatures, saving spiders and encouraging others to leave flowers in the ground rather than cutting them, protecting the beauty of the earth for everyone to enjoy. As a Roman Catholic, she had an enduring faith and tried to model Jesus in every thought and act. Her legacy will forever be one of kindness and generosity.
In honor of Vicki's enduring spirit and her battle with cancer, in lieu of sending flowers, please consider donations to the American Cancer Society or The Denver Hospice. Donations can be made at the following website: https://everloved.com/life-of….
As we all grapple with our loss of such a beautiful soul in our life, we find solace in the thought that Vicki's light will forever shine in the actions of those who follow her example. May she rest in peace, united with God and all who have gone before us.
