We regretfully announce the passing of Vicki Gayle Thornton (Ackermann) of Canton, MS. After a difficult battle with Pancreatic Cancer, Vicki passed away peacefully on June 11th, 2021 surrounded by her loved ones.
Vicki was a loving daughter, mother, sister, niece, aunt, grandmother, great aunt and friend and we will never be able to fill the space left by her absence.
Preceded in death by her father, Norman Ackermann Sr, and two brothers Terry and Mark Ackermann. Survived by mother Esther Ackermann, Uncle Wayne Ackermann, sister Lisa Martin(Mike), brother Norman Ackermann Jr., son Zac Thornton(Amber), daughter Marki Ackermann, former husband Woodie Thornton, 3 grandchildren Dalton,Carter, and Bella, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Vicki's honor to MD Anderson Pancreatic Research the Moon Shot Program to aid in early detection for future generations (https://www.mdanderson.org/ca…)
