Vicki's obituary
Vicki Monge, 72, of Mount Washington, KY, and formerly of Eureka, IL, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on January 24, 1953, in Chester, IL, she carried a warm and giving spirit throughout her life, touching the hearts of everyone who knew her.
A devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Vicki’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her fiancé, James Gillson; her children, Randy Leggans (Nycole) and Stacey Craps (Amelia); and her six beloved grandchildren—Jackson, Delaney, and Olivia Leggans, and Mason, Bryce, and Trevor Craps—who will forever cherish the love, wisdom, and laughter she shared with them. She is also survived by her siblings, Gary Leggans (Hazel), Denise Brodnax, Walter Smith Jr., and Nathan Smith (Phyliss).
Vicki dedicated much of her career to helping others, serving as an HR Manager, where her kindness and compassion made a lasting impact. In her free time, she found happiness in cooking, baking, crafting, and caring for sick and injured animals—always offering a gentle touch to those in need. A dependable friend and a warm presence, Vicki had a way of making people feel seen and heard, whether through heartfelt conversations over a fresh cup of coffee or simply by being there when it mattered most.
Though she is no longer with us, Vicki’s love, generosity, and unwavering spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to know her.
At this time, no services are planned, but the family asks that those who knew and loved Vicki honor her memory by sharing a meal with loved ones, embracing life’s simple joys, and offering kindness to animals in need—just as she always did.
