Victoria Diane Bateman (Vicki)of Sumter, SC. Graveside service with U.S. Navy honors for Victoria Diane Bateman, 69, of Sumter, will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, December 21, 2023, in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. Dr. Mark Bredholt will officiate. Victoria passed away on Monday , December 18, 2023. Born March 17, 1954, in Sumter, she was a daughter of Warren A. Bateman, Sr. and the late Eugenia Brown Bateman. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend to many who served her county proudly for 12 years in the United States Navy, and then joined the ranks of disabled veterans. Surviving are her father, Warren Bateman, Sr.; brothers, Warren "Alex" Bateman, Jr. (Deborah), Ron Bateman (Debbie), and Max Bateman (Diane); and many loving nieces and nephews. Victoria is also survived by her beloved dog, Star, who survived the automobile accident that claimed Victoria’s life.
