Larry's obituary
Vernon "Larry" Fowler, better known as Larry, born on February 19, 1945, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2026. He was a devoted husband, beloved father, adored grandfather, and treasured friend. Larry lived a life that was rich in experiences, relationships, and personal achievements.
Larry is survived by his cherished wife, Bernice Hoffman-Fowler, his dedicated son, Cecil Fowler, and his grandsons, who was the light of his life, Cody Fowler and Ryan Gregory. He was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Beverly Gregory, who will no doubt have welcomed him with open arms. Larry's family was the center of his world and he found great comfort and joy in their company.
Larry had a fruitful career that culminated in his retirement from Columbia Falls RV Park in 2019. His noteworthy accomplishments were many, the most significant being the fact that he was instrumental in propelling a desolate RV Park to one of the top spots in town, a feat he counted among his proudest accomplishments. His entrepreneurial spirit also led him in his earlier years to own multiple successful convenience stores, a testament to his resilience, determination and passion.
Larry was a man of simple pleasures, he was often seen savoring his favorite dishes, mashed potatoes and gravy along with a good steak and partaking with his favorite drink, Black Velvet, all while reveling in the company of friends. In his earlier years, he was a familiar face at his favorite local spot from where he grew up in Toledo, The Landing.
At home, Larry found solace in the pages of The Bible, one of his favorite books. He was often heard humming notes from Kid Rock and T. Graham Brown, his favorite music. He also enjoyed watching Gunsmoke, his television show of choice.
Larry's favorite color was white, or so we think, since that was his favorite color to wear. This mirrors the purity of his heart. He always encouraged everyone around him to work hard, carrying himself as the embodiment of that principle. His greatest life lesson was grounded in the belief that hard work always pays off.
He leaves behind a void that will be hard to fill. His absence will be deeply felt by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege to know him. He will be dearly missed, but his legacy of hard work, love, and generosity will continue to inspire all of us.
