Our condolences to Velma's family. We first met Velma when she and Bob were our first neighbors in Pasadena, Tx.  Velma and Bob were the best support forBill and I as we started our lives together.  Velma and I shared a love for plants and animals.  The best times we shared were during the summer taking my dogs, Trixie and Dixie, to the beach and riding the waves on floats. We went to see Barry Manilow and Kenny Rogers with Dolly Pardon.  I will never forget the days of drinking coffee and eating a special treat baked by Velma.  She was my second mother.

We recently spoke on the phone and Bill and I had planned to visit with her.  We never made it and I am left with our final words.  "I love you guys", said Velma.  I hope she knew we loved her, too.
