Velda’s legacy is one of love, extended to her surviving family members; her son, Kenneth Parsons, daughters Kimberly Parsons and Michelle Parsons, brothers James Samples, and Norman Samples, and sisters Thelma Nodine and Wilma Lea Bates. Along with many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. Each of them carry forward the spirit of Velda's kindness and generosity and are a testament to the strength and resilience of her character.

Velda's love for Gospel, bluegrass, and country music was well-known among her loved ones. Her passion for music was only matched by her enjoyment of singing gospel songs, two recreational activities that she dived into during her spare time. These simple pleasures enriched her life and provided much-needed solace, filling her days with rhythm and inspiration.
As we remember Velda, we recognize her humility, her compassion, and her unwavering willingness to always extend a helping hand. May her life's testament serve as a beacon of kindness and generosity and may her soul find eternal peace.
