Van's obituary
Van lived well and died too soon.
March 1946-November 2023 age 77
He touched many people through his work as a builder, woodworker, motorcyclist, adventurer, community theater actor, director, set builder, and youth theater producer. He was generous and gentle; usually choosing to move in ways of least resistance. He had a thirst for knowledge, was well read, and always could find commonality and connection with anyone he came across.
A fun note about Van…he rode his 250cc Honda motorcycle from Panama City to the US is 1970 and ‘71; it took him a year. He tried California for a short time but quickly landed at Rancho Linda Vista where he became a member of the community and stayed through the remainder of his life. He loved riding his motorcycle and was amazed when Fox wanted to ride with him. They once went as far as Alaska on their BMW airhead.
He will be missed by so many, especially by his daughter Allegra and grandson Oren, his partner and love, Fox and his dear bonus daughters Shelley and Kelly along with his granddaughters Cezanne, and Lyra, and by all the residents current, former, and future of RLV.
A memorial pachanga (fiesta) will be held in Vans honor at the Wilson Barn in Oracle the afternoon of April 6th 2023
