Van's obituary

Van Alexander Covington lll went to be with his Lord on October 24, 2019 at the age of 69 in Stockbridge, Ga. after a long struggle with diabetes.
He was born December 06, 1949 in Waco, Texas to parents Van Alexander Covington Jr. and Sally Trulove Covington.
Van honorably served in the U.S.Army as a Medic 1968-1971.
His adventurous spirit then led to several fun and satisfying occupations.
He was very passionate about Golf. He followed every player on the tour since he was about 12 years old and he played every chance he could with his brothers Ben and Joe and his wife Melody.
Van loved music so much that he had a collection of songs that would impress most people. Someone could ask him to play a particular song and he would have it!
That earned him the beloved task of always providing the music at the family get togethers in the mountains.
Of course besides the music, no mountain trip was complete without his Boston Terriers beside him.
He had 4 of them: Noonie, Doodleboy, BeBe and his little love-DiggyDoggie.
Those were many of the happiest times in his life.
In his later years he had his precious Tootie always right by his side, his last Boston Terrier that he loved just as much as the first four.
Surviving Van are:
His wife of 26 years, Melody McGinnis Covington
Brother, Ben Covington
Brother, Joe Covington
Sister, Elise Parris Covington
Sister, Julia McInnes
Son, Van Alexander Covington lV
Daughter, Marie Kitchens
and several grandchildren.
Niece, Catherine Covington Supawanich
Nephew, Preston Sellers
Niece, Elizabeth Covington
Nephew, Grant Covington

A celebration of his life was held at the family mountain home soon afterwards.
