Rest in heavenly peace, Valerie. Although we crossed paths for only a few years during our early teenage times in Baltimore, I remember you as always being incredibly kind, gracious and friendly. With warmest thoughts, Pattie Burk (Rock Glen Junior High School, Class of 1969) 💖

I am shocked and saddened to hear of Valerie’s passing. I worked with her at Aon Consulting in Portland. To this day, I recall her incredible sense of humor and some of the laugh-out-loud things she would say. Valerie was also incredibly kind and thoughtful. We kept in touch over the years. The last time I saw her I was at the vet for my dog, and I heard this unmistakable voice! It was her. We hugged and caught up, and I was happy to see her so content and doing well. I never got to meet her incredible family, although she spoke of them often and glowed when she talked about her son. My thoughts are with you all. We lost a great person who blessed us with her time on this earth much too briefly. I send love to you all.

Oh my dear east coast friend… we shared many laughs and tears, excitement and sorrow through the years. You were not just my client, but my dear, dear, friend! You supported me in going back to school, invited me into your home, your life, your friendships… I never would have guessed that day you sat in my salon chair you would become such an impactful person in my life. You made me a stronger, more confident woman. You showed me how to use my voice, cheered me on when I wasn’t sure I could continue, and cried with me in the hardest moments of my life. I so wish I could have come to Baltimore and finally met your family, and experienced all the best parts of who you are. I will cherish your friendship for the rest of my life. I love you Val!

I met Valerie while working for Eddie's in Paradise as a driver in 1972. I delivered groceries to her parents home and soon after she got a job there also as a cashier. We started dating and I took Valerie to her prom at Mt De Sales Academy soon after. We stayed friends throughout the years even though we weren't dating any longer. I last saw Valerie at the Catonsville Walmart in March 2014 while I was in the 12 or less items line. We didn't speak, but I assumed that she was back in Maryland to celebrate her 60th birthday with her family. My condolences to the entire Verrecchio family and her son Brandon.

Valerie touched many lives including mine. We worked together at Taylor Manor & Sheppard Pratt & were friends for many years but mostly lost touch when she moved to the west coast. She had beauty, intellect, style, wit & humor, & was a great success in every task & job she undertook. Great fun to be with! I always called her a mover & shaker, & social butterfly. Uniquely sharp & intuitive & a great talent in the business world. She'll be missed by # exponentially..
