I very much regret not reimbursing Ma Brehm for all of the Cheez Whiz and toast that I ate after school at her house. She was a great lady! Lottie, you are in my thoughts and prayers.

I will always remember Aunt Larry as such a strong and capable woman. Her ability to adapt and make the best of every situation, no matter where in the world she lived, was truly admirable. I remember once reading a letter she wrote to my mother in which she said one day she would write a book and title it "Jungles I have known and loved." She handled five children with ease and was always open to having me and other cousins along for the ride.
My condolences to all of you on her loss. I hope your happy memories sustain you in this sad time.
Love,

Dearest Laurie,
it is almost 50 years ago that I spent wonderful 4 weeks at your parents house in Purcellville and got to know you and your lovely parents. I am very thankful that I had this opportunity and I feel very sorry that this wonderful person now passed away. Three days after her 94th birthday!
With a warm hug and sincere condolences!

Dearest Laurie,
I know this will leave a big hole in your life, as it will for Natalie, Matthew and Margaret. I have such very vivid and fond memories of your mom. She was bigger than life to me when we were growing up. I loved her self-confidence and thought she was very stylish and beautiful. I recall thinking that she and your dad really loved and respected each other, something I wasn't used to observing. To this day, I make the arroz con pollo she introduced to my palate over 50 years ago. I recall she sang (acted too?) in community theater in Clinton and sang in the Presbyterian Church choir. She was a great lady.
My prayers and love to you,
Your "oldest" friend, Cindy
