Ursula's obituary

Ursula Joi Carrier, age 43 of Chicago, Illinois passed away Monday July 28th, 2025 in Tinley Park, Illinois. She was born October 28th, 1981 to the late Andrea Ella Long.

Ursula loved spending time with her family, whether baking with her children, going on family outings, or enjoying relaxing evenings and weekends together. She was devoted to her friends and family, known for her servant leadership, and bringing joy to others through her caring spirit and witty sense of humor.

Ursula is preceded in death by her grandparents, Benjamin and Anna Smith; mother, Andrea; and brother, Brent.

She is survived by her husband, Charlie Carrier-Muhammad; daughter, Ava Carrier; and son, Elijah Carrier.

She is also survived by her beloved first cousin, Lorris Hudson, and many cherished extended family from aunts to uncles, and cousins. Ursula loved and shared unique bonds throughout her family, however, the unmistakable bond she shared with her cousin Lorris was one more akin to sisterhood.

A celebration of Ursula’s life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 9, 2025, in the Lake View Room at East Chicago Marina. Friends and family are encouraged to attend as we gather to share memories and reflect on the many ways she touched all of our lives.
