The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh. We thank the Lord for giving you to serve us in the time He chose and bringing our paths to cross through your lovely wife, Esther. I remember how much you cherished her and all of us her mates. I remember when we came to invade your place when we had one of our 'get together' meetings, how you became a 'UI alumnus" for day. I remember the excitement in your voice when you rang me to help organise a 'surprise' video birthday message for her during the Covid lock down period.
We will miss you very much but we thank God for He alone knows best. Rest in peace till we shall meet to part no more. Adieu Greg.

Greg fondly referred to as UG, you responded to my telephone calls by saying "Oga me". Not sure how you arrived at that!! I know from our discussions that the Yoruba language fascinated your bright mind. You often said that the Yorubas have a greeting or salutation for everything!!
You have been a good friend and confidante, who I enjoyed talking to virtually daily since Covid-19. One good thing Covid did for our friendship. You always gave a balanced well thought out view about any issue we discussed. Indeed, we talked on the telephone for over 1 hour on the morning of 17.01.24. You subsequently joined the rank of immortals. So, that was our goodbye. I have continued to miss our daily chats and will do so for a long time.
Our friendship dates back to Uniben, you were two years ahead of me at the Medical School, with greater bonding in Edinburgh, where we both trained in our specialities. I spent numerous Sundays with your family. I was on my own. You were all very kind, welcoming and friendly, like a family to me.
We have tried to meet regularly since then, either you coming down South or me up to Scotland. We had arranged with Disy to meet half-way, late April, in Manchester for lunch. This is not meant to be.
The will of the Lord has been accomplished.
Greg, May the angels lead you into paradise; may the martyrs receive you at arrival and lead you to the holy city, Jerusalem.
May the choirs of angels receive you and with Lazarus once poor, may you have eternal rest.
Amen.

Ogbuefi, the name I called you long before you became one.
You exited the dance floor of life too soon and suddenly, leaving a void in many lives, but your loss is a gain for the Angels.
Our small talks and your wise counsel for well over 45 years have been appreciated and cherished
RIP my adopted brother.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. Wishing you peace during this difficult time. It was an absolute pleasure to not only have Dr Ofli as my obstetrician for my Twins pregnancy but to then work with him for many years. I can still hear his hearty laugh which filled the corridors. He will be sorely missed

My condolences to the family. Should there be a destination beyond our existence in this realm, I will undoubtedly seek him out upon my arrival. Until then, farewell, my friend.

My condolences to Greg's family. I first met Greg when he attended Anioma Meeting in Glasgow and found out he was from Asaba Delta State. Since then he has always played fatherly role to myself and my husband. We speak with him on a weekly bases and we could chat for hours about anything and everything. He loved us and always gave us advise and kind words. We miss him very much. My condolences to his wife, children and family members. Farewell Daddy, till we meet again. We love you
