Ty's obituary
Tyre Calhoun Weaver IV, affectionally known as Ty, passed away Thursday March 2nd, 2023, at 50 years old due to his injuries sustained from a fatal motorcycle accident in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Born June 22nd, 1972, in Opelika, AL to Tyre and Nan Weaver, Ty grew up passionate about sports, his family and his faith in God. As a boy, he would even bring his Bible to school to read for fun. Ty attended Samford University in Birmingham, AL where he was a record holding member of the track team and met his wife Shannon. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in accounting in 1994. He then followed his passions to culinary school which he attended in Baton Rouge, LA.
Ty married his loving wife Shannon in 1998 where their daughter Tyler, born four years earlier, served as their flower girl. Together, they were blessed to bring two sons into the world with Mason in 2001 and Michael in 2007, completing their trio. Ty and Shannon, along with their children, enjoyed traveling, sampling craft beer and visiting new breweries. On a given weekend you could find Auburn football on the TV on Saturday and the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, and Lightning Hockey was a staple in the Weaver household. Ty loved running and the family spent many weekends cheering Ty on through various races, the medals of which he proudly displayed in his office at 3 Daughters. He had no shortage of dad jokes which he proudly would chuckle at himself upon delivering the punch line and was known in the family as the one to go to when you needed advice. He loved being outdoors and was hiking parts of the Appalachian Trail annually, starting at the beginning in 2016 and hoping to one day reach the end.
Ty moved to the Tampa Bay area in the summer of 2002 and often shared he never intended to leave. Ty worked as the brewmaster of 3 Daughters Brewing where he was loved dearly by his colleagues and employees, the 3D Family. He was known as a wise, reliable, and determined hard-worker who was always ready to share a joke.
Ty is preceded in death by his father, Tyre Weaver III, and is survived by his wife Shannon, his children Tyler, Mason and Michael, his siblings Lynn (Joel) Fallon, Bryan (Adrianne) Weaver and Katie (Daniel) Torrez, as well as his mother Nan Weaver.
Ty will always be remembered for his love for his family, his incredible work ethic, and his wise and kind heart. The ones he loved will always remember the beer he loved to make and enjoyed drinking even more as well as his faith for God in both the worst and best of times. Ty will be deeply missed by all those who loved him, and his legacy will live on through the life he built and the people he loved.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 8th at 2 PM at St. Petersburg First United Methodist Church (212 3rd Street North). A celebration of life will be held at 3 Daughters Brewing (222 22nd Street South) at 4 PM. In honor of Ty, please wear Tie-Dye or represent his favorite teams at 3 Daughters.
