Tyler Johnathan Perry, affectionately known as TJ, passed away on March 4, 2023, in Boca Raton, Florida, at the age of 68. He was born on May 2, 1954, in Maryland to his loving parents who preceded him in death. He fought a valiant 20-year battle with prostate cancer, but eventually succumbed to the illness.
TJ was a highly educated man who earned his doctorate from the University of Virginia. He was a respected member of his profession and worked diligently throughout his career. TJ was a loving husband and devoted father to his five children. He cherished his family and was always there for them no matter what. He was a true patriarch and a shining example of a loving family man.
In his free time, TJ enjoyed fishing, golfing, and spending time with his family. He was a man of many talents and interests, and he pursued his passions with enthusiasm and vigor. His kind and gentle nature made him a beloved member of his community, and he touched the lives of all who knew him.
TJ's legacy lives on through his loving wife, his five children, and his many grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but his memory will be forever cherished. A private service for family and close friends will be held to celebrate his life and honor his memory.
