Tyler's obituary
Tyler James Wall a long-time Southington resident, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 in Greenville, NC. He was 38. A renowned world-traveler and unabashed bon vivant, Tyler attended Southington Public Schools starting in kindergarten until he graduated Southington High School in 2005. He began his pursuit of higher education at Southern Connecticut State University and then transferred to UCONN Storrs to complete his studies, culminating in his being awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2009.
Following graduation, Tyler set out to make his way in the world balancing the beckoning call of adventure with the more practical aspects of day-to-day survival. Tyler enthusiastically embraced his roles in various job settings in CT before moving to Seattle, then New York City, where his penchant for physical and spiritual wellness blossomed into a career that combined his unique skillset with his interest in and ability to help others. As such he became a nationally recognized leader in his field, working with individuals from all walks of life and from across several countries helping each of them to become the best version of themselves as possible. Folks from far and wide knew of his legend and aspired to be the man he was. Tyler exuded the belief that anybody could find and embrace their own path on their own terms if they opened their minds, grounded themselves, and stayed the course. He traveled extensively throughout the United States, Europe, and Africa as well as Central and South America. He was known for his love of music; especially hip-hop as he was an early adopter of the genre and an avid fan until the end. He was a loving and caring individual that was able to channel his basic empathetic nature into supporting others to be the best versions of themselves. He will be remembered as a cheerful, curious, and disciplined guy by his many friends and all of the people he encountered during his way-to-brief stay here.
Tyler was the epitome of a real man. He lived for adventure, deep connection with humankind, animals, and the natural world . The depth of his innate understanding of and compassion for the human soul was almost other worldly. If you found him on a path in the forest, he would quietly welcome you to walk with him should you so choose, and when you walked as far as you wanted to go, you would leave him and wonder what just happened. You would certainly feel enlightened having been held in his unwavering warm embrace and feel the strength and courage to move forward on your own path feeling lighter. Tyler had a special way about him. Anyone who knew him could attest to that almost mystical aura he carried around him. Tyler was a passionate man. He loved to have fun and bring joy to all the world. He danced with utter abandon. He ate with sheer gusto, and he loved ferociously. Tyler was a voracious reader and he wrote beautiful and profound poetry. He collected x-men, fur coats, music, comics, and friends. When he was a teen he challenged himself to ride his bicycle on every single road in Southington before summer’s end. Tyler was the best kind of quirky there is.
