Tyler's obituary
Tyler Roland Chamberlain, 39, passed away in the early morning hours of October 14, 2024 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was a devoted husband to Anne (“Annie”) Chamberlain, and loving and dedicated father to Olivia Anne and Isaac Benson Chamberlain.
Born in Fairfax, Virginia as the only son to Boyd Merl (predeceased) and Jane Chamberlain, Tyler had a boundless curiosity for life. Tyler's passion for learning and ambition were at the core of who he was, even at a young age. A graduate of Virginia Tech with a degree in Engineering, he built a successful career which led him and his family from Gainesville, Virginia to Camden, Arkansas, culminating in his most recent position at Lockheed Martin in Midlothian, Texas.
Tyler met the love of his life, Annie, on New Year's Eve 2007, and they married six short months later on the 21st of June, 2008. During their seventeen years together, Tyler became a father to his two cherished children, Olivia and Isaac. He took immense pride in his family—his wife and kids were his world, always putting them and their happiness above all else, and spending every moment he could with them, up until his last. He would have done anything for them, and made sure to attend every performance, sporting event, and awards ceremony.
His love extended beyond his immediate family; he was known for giving honest advice and treating everyone with respect, whether they were a line worker or a CEO. He could easily stand in front of a room and speak, sharing his insights and experiences. Known for his ability to connect with anyone he met, Tyler made friends wherever he went. He had a gift for conversation and a generosity of spirit that left a lasting impression on those around him. To quote some of his closest friends, Tyler “left a wake of infectious vivacity and energy everywhere he went” and “made little moments into big memories”.
Tyler aspired to be the Vitruvian Man—striving for mastery in various trades, science, art, and music. His ambition extended to every aspect of his life, whether it was mentoring robotics teams, exploring new technologies, taking on countless projects at work, or tackling hands-on projects at home. He found joy in fixing problems and creating solutions, preferring to engage directly with challenges rather than remain confined to an office.
Among his many accomplishments, Tyler had the opportunity to serve a religious mission in Brazil where he learned the Portuguese language and grew to love the people and culture. He was proud of his work on a Baja car at Virginia Tech and valued his education. He experienced exponential growth in his career in defense, and received numerous awards for his hard work and dedication. At home, he loved and prized his innovative board games, the home theater he built, and the loving environment he and his wife built for their family. He viewed life as a series of puzzles to be solved, and he embraced every opportunity to learn and create.
The magnitude of his loss is deeply felt by all who knew him, but Tyler's legacy of kindness, ambition, and unwavering love lives on through his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. He will be profoundly missed.
