I have known Truitt for over 65 years! You could not ask for a better person.  He was my brother-in-law for probably 40 years.  You could call Truitt for help, and he would be there for you, if at all possible, always willing to help in any way.  I've never seen Truitt angry or upset at anyone, he had a cool and calm demeanor all the time!  Truitt worked hard, sometimes working 2 jobs at a time to provide for his family.  He was a sweetheart to my sister, Helen.  He supported her in every way possible and provided every need after her illness.  He loved and took care of his family.  I am now 91 years old and he would still phone me at least twice every month, sometimes more, to check up on me and see how I am doing.  God gave Truitt a loving heart when he made him.

With love, Shirley Ryer

I am the eldest grandchild. I have cherished memories of my TawTaw, as I called him. TawTaw showed me what to expect in a husband, father and grandfather. He was loving and would do anything for his family. He loved big and I believe that is his legacy.
