Trudy's obituary

Trudy Jean (Campbell) Carmichael

Our loving Trudy passed into eternal life on March 22, 2024. Trudy was born August 3, 1948 and baptized into the Catholic Church in Teaneck, New Jersey.

Trudy graduated from Oak Ridge High School in Orlando in 1966. She went to work for Martin Marietta (Lockheed Martin) in September 1966, retiring from the company in 2008. She married Randy Carmichael in 1968. They subsequently moved to the Winston-Salem area of NC where she fell in love with the Blue Ridge mountains. They were married 12 years before divorcing. Randy passed away in 2000.

Trudy was a great lover of dogs, especially rescues. Ashes from her beloved Ruthie and Dolly will join her. Her handsome Zulu survives her and now lives with Trudy’s daughter in Texas.

Trudy will be remembered for her laughter, her beauty, and her quest to be the “Queen of Everything.” She was a beautiful soul inside and out, and leaves behind family who loved her and the many friends she made over her lifetime.

Trudy is survived by her daughter Dr. Christine Carmichael (Sandy Longoria) of Spring Branch, Texas; son Mark Carmichael of Orlando; sister Teresa Campbell; sister Colleen Tate (Mike) and their daughter Lauren Scheving (Seth) with children Elena, Gabriel, and Thatcher; brother-in-law Nick Nicodemus and daughters Terrie Nicodemus and Lisa Stephens (Mark) with children Amanda and Alex.

Trudy is preceded in death by her older sister Grace Nicodemus; mother Gertrude Campbell-Stephens; and father Hugh R. Campbell.

‘And when I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.’ John 14:3

Services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Spring Branch, Texas on Thursday, April 11. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Trudy's name to the American Lung Association https://www.lung.org/ and the ASPCA https://www.aspca.org/ways-to…
