Dear Wayne and Janice Gray,

So sorry to hear of the passing of your grandson. My oldest is about the same age so I can relate, but I cannot imagine the loss. Prayers that the love ofJesus will overwhelm you during these difficult days.

I am so grateful for all the moments I had with Troy. Simple moments like sitting in his Buick listening to Rush in high school and sharing everything, debating whether Tupac was a poet or a rapper (Troy was right-poet), a particularly heated argument about how to get to Crazy Earls (before the days of GPS, after we made up he got me some pie to make up for it), watching CAKE play in the pouring down rain, and so many other memories I hold dear.

Despite the distance that grew between us and all of his earthly struggles, I never stopped loving my friend and I hope he knew.

I’m going to miss him so much and hope he is somewhere kinder and gentler where his light can shine.

My thoughts are with Troy’s family during this time. Praying for peace for you all.
